The Distance Between Me and the Cherry Tree by Paola Peretti 2024-03-29T09:00:43+00:00

The Distance Between Me and the Cherry Tree A simple but charmingly bittersweet story about a young girl coming to terms with the fact that she is losing her sight. Its great to see a novel for young readers that tackles the notion of disability and difference with such honesty and sensitivity; enhanced, no doubt, by the fact that the author has the same condition as her protagonist. The narrative voice is believably youthful and naive, and the translation from Italian was clearly handled well. Though poignant, it didn’t delve as deep as it could have, and so didnt hit me in the gut quite as much as I hoped The Distance Between Me and the Cherry Tree by Paola Peretti

The Mermaid's Daughter by Ann Claycomb 2024-03-29T09:00:43+00:00

The Mermaid's Daughter Completely Awed.First off, I started this book a week ago on a lunch break at work, read six pages and then closed the book and put it away. Just in the first few pages I knew this was going to be a non-stop read and I refused to open it again until I could sit and read it all the way through... which I did... in about half a day. Amazing story! Now, generally I do not like to quote lines from novels I read in my reviews, not sure why, I just dont The Mermaid's Daughter by Ann Claycomb

The 5 AM Club: Own Your Morning. Elevate Your Life So bad it’s hilarious. I listened to the audiobook thinking it would be self-help non-fiction but it was a “novel”. So many what-not-to-do examples for writers The 5 AM Club: Own Your Morning. Elevate Your Life by Robin S. Sharma

Shadow of the Fox (Shadow of the Fox, #1) Third time read & review.I am loving my reread of the Shadow of the Fox series. If you ever read it, or wanted to, I highly recommend the audiobooks! I feel like Ive never been so focused on what was happening until this time around. So weird but its like everything was better or made me open my eyes. I blame the quarantine for sure.In it, you will meet a ton of wonderful characters that you will either fall in like or dislike with. For me, personally, I fell in love with them all and their entire adventure Shadow of the Fox (Shadow of the Fox, #1) by Julie Kagawa

A Suitable Replacement (Deceived, #4) Reviewed for Rainbow Gold ReviewThe cover of the book implied for me, that this would be a historical. You get a historical setting with carriages, breeches, cravats, ballrooms and how to address the other person properly but that´s where the similarities ends. I actually was a little confused at the beginning why Mavin, Maximillian´s twin sister, is the Duchess and not Max the Duke, since that´s not how passing on of the title works, normally at least. Since I assumed this story would be a historical, I, of course, was at fault for wrong expectations A Suitable Replacement (Deceived, #4) by Megan Derr

  • Clockwork Angel; Clockwork Prince; Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices, #1-3)
Clockwork Angel; Clockwork Prince; Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices, #1-3) by Cassandra Clare 2024-03-29T09:00:43+00:00

Clockwork Angel; Clockwork Prince; Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices, #1-3) The reason why I love this book is because the book ends well. The author, Cassandra Clare, describes beautifully in every chapter. This book also teaches about pure love. About love without possessiveness in it, brotherhood between the two friends, and also what can be done with the excuse of love. I love the main characters, Will, Jem and Tessa. That feels so alive, selfless, honest, pure, and self-sacrifice in the struggle for love. That there is always a chance to be happy in the flow of time. Clockwork Angel; Clockwork Prince; Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices, #1-3) by Cassandra Clare
