The Good Daughter (Good Daughter, #1) Holy crap, this book was INTENSE! By the end of the prologue, I was breathless. And the intensity didnt stop. Karin Slaughter’s pacing of this book is fantastic. Tension-tension-tension-tension!I love the Quinn family. Defense attorney dad, Rusty, and genius mom, Gamma, have two teen daughters, Sam and Charlie. I find it hard to call them dysfunctional because they make everything work for them. They are funny, quirky, unique. The brutality unleashed on this family might be called unthinkable, but in reality it happens somewhere every day. Slaughter pulls no punches with the violence The Good Daughter (Good Daughter, #1) by Karin Slaughter

The 5 AM Club: Own Your Morning. Elevate Your Life So bad it’s hilarious. I listened to the audiobook thinking it would be self-help non-fiction but it was a “novel”. So many what-not-to-do examples for writers The 5 AM Club: Own Your Morning. Elevate Your Life by Robin S. Sharma

Until I Met You When I first finished Hazel and Judes story, I wasnt 100% on my reaction. But now having sat on my feelings for a few days, and realizing I can still hear them in my head, I know this story will stay with me for a long time. What a sad, heartbreaking and memorable story. Both Taylor (Hazel) and Jude have endured so much. Jude, poor sweet Jude; my heart is broken for her and all she has experienced. She has been beaten down by her circumstance so many times, yet manages to carry on. She is strong and confident and still goes about life with a quirky curiosity that is all her own Until I Met You by S.L. Scott

The Pedagogy of Pathologization: Dis/abled girls of color in the school-prison nexus by Subini Ancy Annamma 2024-03-29T10:58:39+00:00

The Pedagogy of Pathologization: Dis/abled girls of color in the school-prison nexus This an excellent book. Though it has an academic publisher and academic-sounding title, it reads like good non-fiction. Thats partially because Subini Ancy Annamma is a wonderful writer and partly because the practical framework is an in-depth, two-year, qualitative study with ten incarcerated, disabled girls of color, so its a study that lends itself to a strong narrative. Its a painful subject, but I absolutely love the connections Dr. Annamma makes and the ways she makes them.
